Participant Manual

Reports are marked by a team of peer assessors with appropriate experience in the EQA field, against peer ratified marking criteria. All reports are anonymised so the assesors are not aware of the identity of the partcipating laboratories.

Scoring is divided into three categories, genotyping, interpretation and clerical accuracy each marked out of 2.0 marks according to the peer ratified criteria.

All scoring is independently checked by at least a second expert. Any discrepancy in the sets of marking are resolved by the Scheme Director or the appropriate Specialist Advisory Group.

All scores are subject to an appeal process. All appeals must be submitted during the designated appeals period and uploaded to the website. Appeals are considered by the appropriate Specialist Advisory Group anonymously and the outcomes conveyed to the laboratory by the Scheme Director.
